Q. How can I book my vacation on LONE STAR
A. We only accept bookings from qualified charter agents. Contact the agent of your choice. LONE STAR can be booked for 7-day, 10-day or 14-day charters.
Q. What is the cost?
A.Your charter agent will be able to supply you with an exact
quotation that will depend on several variables including:
1) number in your party, 2) number of days, 3) time of year
4) destination. Those prices don't include SCUBA which will
be an extra charge, such as expensive Champagne and wines.
Crew gratuity (typically 10-15%) is usually the only additional
expense.
Q. Where does LONE STAR cruise?
A. During the winter season (Nov-May), we are based out
of the most popular cruising area in the world - Tortola,
British Virgin Islands but we can meet you anywhere else
in the Caribbean : St Marteen, Antigua, Saint-Barth, Guadeloupe,
Martinique, Grenadines islands... In the summer season we
can also cruise in the wonderfull Mediterranean. Please
contact your usual charter agent for any enquiries.
Q. I know nothing about sailing -- will this prevent me from really enjoying my vacation?
A. Absolutely not! The vast majority of our charter guests know nothing about sailing and, in fact, many had never even been on a boat of any size before their vacation on LONE STAR. Our crew has been carefully recruited and trained to take all the worry and uncertainty out of your time with us. All you have to do is show up and enjoy yourself.
Q. What exactly is a "crewed yacht"?
A. Just as it implies, a "crewed yacht" is a yacht that comes complete with a full crew. Their whole function in life is to insure that you have a spectacular time while you are with us. They operate the yacht, cook your meals, mix your drinks, act as your guide, your maid, your butler and well... just about anything else you can think of! In our case, aboard LONE STAR you will have a minimum of 4 full-time crew people (captain, 1st mate, chef and stewardess) onboard at all times.
Q. What are the advantages of chartering a catamaran (vs. a traditional sailing yacht or motor yacht)?
A. In a word -- SPACE! Catamarans are, by design, the most roomy and stable class of yacht. And LONE STAR is one of the largest catamarans in the entire Caribbean. Particularly for larger groups of guests (8+), you just can't beat the unique design of our yacht. Up to 12 or even 16 guests can comfortably enjoy themselves on LONE STAR without feeling crowded or rushed. This feeling of "personal space" is impossible to duplicate on virtually any-sized sailing yacht and can only be found on 150'+ motor yachts that can easily cost more than $100k/ week! |
